Accessibility statement
Our commitment to accessibility, the standard our websites are built to and how to tell us about a barrier.
Effective October 15, 2026.
Our commitment
NaviKind Labs builds software for families and caregivers, many of whom have a disability or support someone who does. Accessibility is a requirement of our work, not an addition to it. This statement covers our websites, including navikindlabs.com. Each product will have its own accessibility statement when it is released.
Our standard
Our websites are designed to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA. We describe them as designed to conform, rather than verified as conforming, until they have been tested with assistive technologies such as screen readers.
How we build and check
- Semantic structure: headings in order, landmarks, and real lists and tables.
- Full keyboard operation, with a way to skip to the main content and a visible focus indicator on every control.
- Text and interface colors that meet the WCAG contrast requirements in both light and dark themes, and information never conveyed by color alone.
- Controls large enough to use easily on a touch screen.
- Content that reflows on small screens and at high zoom.
- Motion kept to a minimum, and turned off when your device is set to reduce motion.
- Videos that never play sound until you choose to start them.
Before each release we check our pages with automated accessibility tools and scripted browser checks, and we review them visually in both color themes and at phone width.
Known limitations
Our websites have not yet been tested with screen readers such as VoiceOver and NVDA. Until they are, some content may be announced less clearly than intended. Please tell us about any barrier you encounter.
How we write about people
In our own voice we name the group or the need: people with disabilities, a student with an education plan, an adult under guardianship. We use the term “special needs” only where it is part of a formal name, such as a special needs trust. When people tell us how they describe themselves, we use their words.
Feedback and alternative formats
If you encounter a barrier, or need information in another format, email info@navikindlabs.com with “Accessibility” in the subject line. Tell us the page, the problem and the technology you were using. We aim to respond within five business days and will provide the information in an accessible format if you need it.
